Michu was born in Oviedo, Asturias. In the wake of starting with nearby Real Oviedo in the easier alliances, he moved to Celta de Vigo B in Segunda División B in the 2007 summer; halfway through his first season he appropriated his lady first-group callup, finalizing the period in the beginning XI of the Segunda División outfit.
